ABOUT

My name is Sharon Nyasha Zomba. I am a Zimbabwean political activist, writer, and witness to the truth that many try to silence. This blog is my voice in a country where speaking up can cost you everything.

On 24 May 2022, I was forever changed. Moreblessing Ali, a fellow activist from the Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC), was abducted at Chibhanguza shopping centre in Nyatsime. Her attacker was known to many — a man tied to ZANU PF. Weeks later, her mutilated body was found dumped in a well. That day, the cost of silence became too high for me.

I attended Moreblessing’s funeral. I stood among the mourners as violence broke out. I saw the intimidation. I felt the fear. My name was written down by ZANU PF members — a reminder that in Zimbabwe, even grief can make you a target.

But I refused to be silent.

This blog exists because our pain must have witnesses. It is a space to document the corruption, repression, and abuse of power that continues to destroy our nation. It is a space to honour the memory of Moreblessing Ali and every Zimbabwean who has been silenced, beaten, abducted, or killed for daring to hope for change.

I write not only to expose the truth but to remind the regime that we are watching. We are remembering. And we are not afraid to speak.
